Communication Field Technician

EnerStar Solutions is recruiting for a result driven and customer service oriented  Communications Technicians (I, II, or III) with experience levels that ranges from “entry-level” to "5+ years’ experience”. You will be an integral part of helping grow our exciting new LEO Sat communications division based out of St Clairsville, Ohio Branch, the incumbent (s) will report to the Operations Manager. Communication Technician will be expected to possess skills required to program, setup and install communications and/or satellite equipment as well as- monitoring equipment performance on remote worksite locations. Must be flexible to work occasional longer hours and weekends, some on call required.  Some overnight travel could be required, daily travel to jobsite will be required. A company work vehicle will be supplied. 

General Responsibilities include:

• Installation of wireless communications systems including LTE modems and satellite equipment, Intercoms systems, cabling, antenna and other equipment
• Installation of camera systems, monitors, radios, and other communications equipment
• Respond to service calls, test and trouble shoot issues
• Fill out work orders, inventory forms and any applicable documentation
• Understand and follow all applicable safety codes and procedures including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Translate diagrams, installation manuals, floor plans and methods of procedure into a properly installed and working product
• Ability to attach connectors to cable ends and run a variety of cable types including coaxial, LMR400 and CAT5
• At times, assist EnerStar team members with non-communications related tasks

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to work well individually or as a team member
• Computer proficient
• Some technical skills in telecommunications, network design, cable or similar an asset
• Ability to repair electronics equipment an asset
• 1+ years of related experience an asset (ex: telecom, satellite, oilfield, remote monitoring, high technology)
• High School or equivalent, College Diploma or equivalent an asset
• Experience with Radio Frequency Cabling is an asset
