Job Description

The Chief Executive Officer provides vision, direction, supervision and resource support to various departments and programs of the Agency. Develops and executes annual operating plan formulating goals, objective and budgets; provides plan for review to the Board of Director. Leads key planning sessions and initiates and maintains critical fund-raising relationships. Designs, implements and promotes Agency culture and vision. Regularly participates in active communication with Board of Director and key community stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications


• 10 years’ operational experience (office or business management, executive leadership, chief fundraiser, public relations)

• 5 years’ non-profit industry experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management or related field

• Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite


Typical Duties


• Oversees strategic direction of the Agency; directs resources and initiates operation planning work sessions.

• Implements changes and proposed plans for the betterment of the Agency; carries forward fiscal directive as noted by the Board of Directors.

• Engages in media obligations and public relations including, but not limited to interviews, case study reviews, Agency news and upcoming events.

• Interacts with leadership executives and department heads; offers coaching and mentorship to employees fostering professional development.

• Maintains accountability with Board of Directors including, but not limited active participation during committee and Board meetings.

• Monitors company performance; utilizes key performance metrics to ensure fiscal and programmatic responsibility.

• Sets precedence for working culture and environment; encourages direct and honest communication; fosters employee growth mindset.

• Develops relationships with policymakers, medical, social service, educational, therapeutic professionals and business communities identifying service gaps as well as advancing the mission of the Agency.

• Oversees Agency’s program strategic plan/key performance indicators to align all services with the mission and expand impact in service areas.

• Oversees development and implementation of new or modified Agency services in all counties served; reviews annual operational plan and reports on related goals.

• Maintains knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations and procedures; disseminates and/or presents changes to Agency, advises on implementation of changes and on the impact of changes on funded operations.

• Oversees quality assurance and site performance of all programs; keeps abreast of benchmark data for comparative performance in effectiveness, efficiency, relevance and customer service.

• May serve as primary contact with funders relative to program and financial requirements – specific use, program goals, number of clients, audits and reports; participates in fundraising and public relations activities, as needed.

• Oversees and coordinates Agency wide human resource activities ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations utilizing external resources as deem appropriate.

• Acts as link with organizational leadership and external stakeholders by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and assisting in customer triage.

• Documents and assigns work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, policy revisions, information flow, integrated production methods or cost analysis and drafts communication or associated narrative for internal or external dissemination.

• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
