In the role of the Senior Buyer/Planner you will perform the following:
Summary
Coordinates inventory stocking & replenishment activities with suppliers, sales, logistics and operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Purchasing:
Identify needs and place purchase orders for production materials from domestic and international suppliers.
Responsible for obtaining supplier acknowledgement and reprioritizing orders as necessary.
Updating stakeholders with accurate expected delivery dates, as well as maintaining dates within the ERP (Epicor).
Generate cost savings on purchased materials through negotiation of agreements such as volume discounts, family pricing, etc.
Coordinate with Quality to quickly adjudicate any supplier corrective actions and non-conformities.
Supplier Management/Sourcing:
Identifying new sources of supply to generate cost savings and reduce risk.
Maintain positive supplier partnerships through routine check-in and providing forecasting insights.
Visit domestic and international suppliers, as required (up to 10%).
New Product Development
Participate in cross-functional product development teams.
Coordinate between suppliers and engineering on development activities such as DFM.
Identify suppliers to partner with on new projects.
Release jobs for the model shop.
Logistics:
Coordinate with vendors, carriers, freight forwarders and other stakeholders to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of materials from sources, including overseas.
Ensure proper HTS coding of parts being shipped internationally.
