Job Description

We are conducting a confidential executive search for an accomplished General Manager to lead a flagship fine dining restaurant in New York City.

The General Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, outstanding service standards, strong team performance, and sustainable financial results.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position for an experienced hospitality executive with a proven background in luxury fine dining and a strong understanding of the demanding New York City restaurant market.

The General Manager will oversee daily restaurant operations, lead and develop management and service teams, drive revenue and profitability, manage P&L performance, optimize labor and operating costs, and ensure that the restaurant consistently delivers the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership on strategic initiatives, business planning, operational priorities, and long-term growth. They will also be responsible for building a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

The role requires a leader who can balance exceptional hospitality with strong commercial and financial discipline while remaining actively engaged with guests, employees, and the day-to-day operation.

This position is based exclusively in New York City and requires an on-site presence. Candidates currently located in New York City or surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to apply. Qualified candidates elsewhere in the United States may be considered if they are prepared and able to relocate to New York City.

Requirements

Minimum 7 years of experience as a General Manager or senior operational leader within fine dining.

Proven leadership experience managing luxury fine dining restaurants in New York City is required.

Demonstrated success overseeing high-volume, premium hospitality operations.

Strong expertise in P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, labor optimization, and cost control.

Proven ability to lead, motivate, develop, and retain high-performing hospitality teams.

Strong understanding of luxury service standards and exceptional guest experience.

Outstanding leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Strong business acumen and the ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable strategies.

Ability to manage a demanding, high-volume environment while maintaining exceptional service quality.

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.

Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to balance strategic responsibilities with daily operational involvement.

High level of professionalism, discretion, integrity, and attention to detail.

Native or fully fluent English is required.

Spanish is highly desirable.

Must be able to work on-site in New York City.

Candidates outside New York City must be located within the United States and willing and able to relocate to NYC.
