Staff Engineer

Weaver Consultants Group is looking for recent Civil and/or Environmental Engineering graduates to join our flourishing Fort Worth office. As an engineer with WCG, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplined team with opportunities to substantively contribute to a broad variety of projects. We are seeking independent and highly self-motivated engineers to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Support multiple project managers in a wide variety of projects, including:
  • Develop engineering construction plans and bid documents for grading, drainage systems, storm water management, erosion and sediment control, cell construction, final cover construction, infrastructure construction, liner and leachate collection systems, landfill gas collection systems, and utilities.
  • Use AutoCAD packages to design projects.
  • Develop detailed computer models to evaluate the following: slope stability; geotechnical settlement; regional hydrology; stream hydraulics; leachate generation; contaminate fate and transport; traffic flow and patterns.
  • Prepare permit applications, permit modifications, technical reports, and CQA reports for federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Permitting and civil site design for transfer stations, material recycling facilities, and gas-to-energy plants.
  • Construction observation and documentation (field work, generally local, but some travel and overnight stays including weekends may be required).
• Assist clients in resolving compliance issues.
• Analyze technical data and prepare technical reports.
• Site development, cost estimating, life of site, and airspace management planning.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
• At least 0-4 years of experience with civil engineering, preferably with a focus on waste engineering
• EIT certification or have the ability to obtain certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
• Passion and demonstrative drive to achieve goals
• Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
• Ability to apply technical skills to meeting projects demands and solve problems for our clients
• Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to balance workloads and schedules for multiple projects concurrently
• Works well as an independent but accountable team member
• Ability to excel and adapt in a fast-paced, client service-driven environment
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
