Position Summary

We seek a talented Finance professional with a can do attitude to join our team. As Controller, you will be responsible for all financial duties. You will supervise and work within the 3-person accounting/HR department in multiple hands-on financial & reporting duties. Integrity, dependability, and productivity are essential for this role. This is a full-time, in person position.

Responsibilities

• Payroll & payroll reporting including certified payroll. Processes and submits for direct deposits
• Invoicing including construction progress billing and lien releases
• Make collections calls and file liens as required
• Accounts payable - oversee entry and cost coding of vendor invoices. Process payments
• Compiles and submits weekly job cost/profitability reports
• Completes worker's compensation audits and other insurance-related requests. Also files unemployment, child support, and related tasks
• Ensures all state licensing is renewed and remains current
• Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards
• Manages and forecasts cash flow allowing prompt payment of loans and vendors. Ensures AP checks are deposited promptly
• Prepares quarterly & yearly financial statements. Submits to bank and pays quarterly taxes, etc.
• Collaborates with the company's accounting firm on taxes and financials
• Works with the company's banker to manage bank accounts, lines of credit, and wire transfers
• Makes journal entries as required for equipment purchases, etc.
• Tracks fixed assets and manages the balance sheet

Qualifications

• Two-year accounting degree and three or more years accounting experience including A/R, A/P general accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience with Quickbooks Desktop Edition
• Strong Knowledge of GAAP and best practices
• Proven ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Able to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
• Commitment that tasks are completed accurately by consistently maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and provide solutions
• Ability to anticipate potential problems as they develop and communicate such to Leadership
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
