Job Description

Primary Responsibilities: Assist in the flow and function of all converting, Polypak, slitter departments operations, to optimize efficiency and production at the highest level of performance.

The manager is responsible for overseeing the whole operation of Bag Department, Polypak, and Slitter Department. Manager will ensure the daily operations of such departments run as expected and requested by the VP at

its highest productivity, with the lowest possible waste, at a full quality compliance to customer specifications and expectations.

Manager will work together with other Supervisors along with Quality Control Department to ensure the best possible product while staying in compliance to requirements

Essential Required Job Functions and tasks:

  1. Applying and enforcing all GMP and safety procedures on the floor.
  2. Prepare the department for the yearly AIB audit and ensure all needed documentation and procedures are being followed and completed as required by the Compliance Dept.
  3. Assembling complete job packet paperwork for production floor and checking for accuracy.
  4. Providing converting, Polypak, slitter departments Leadership and support to all personnel.
  5. Perform all necessary duties to ensure daily functionality of the department, machine operation, production, and waste recording.
  6. Follow up on problems interfering with converting productivity and assist with solutions.
  7. Help with the implementation of procedures to improve productivity and waste reduction.
  8. Monitor employee overtime and work schedule with VP.
  9. Meet daily with VP to discuss daily status of the department, such as productivity, machine problems, waste, follow up on special projects assigned within the department.
  10. Be able to meet production productivity goals.
  11. Training of personnel based on existing training procedures and assuring issuance of appropriate documentation.
  12. Assist in inventory control, ensuring appropriate use of film, based on allocations, and assuring there is enough supply of materials to avoid any machine shutting down.
  13. Issue and revise the order/job scheduling daily for best run ability of products.
  14. Prepare the schedule of completed orders in the morning to be ready and sent to VP daily.
  15. Manage the inventory control of maintenance supplies and parts.
  16. In charge of requesting needed parts for the equipment in the department to Purchasing department.
  17. Report any maintenance issues to Maintenance department Supervisor.
  18. Submit work orders for maintenance for any repairs and PM requests, specifying the urgency of the repairs.
  19. Meet with the maintenance department weekly or as needed, to follow up on maintenance repairs and equipment needs.
  20. Ensure machine repairs are performed in a timely manner to avoid or minimize operational interruptions. Advise VP of any major problems interrupting production for over one shift.
  21. Maintaining all GMP's and food safety compliance on the production floor and always keep a clean environment.
  22. Assist on special projects in the department as needed.
  23. Ensure daily workload flow in an efficient manner.
  24. Ensure all employees always follow the company's policy in all aspects. Follow up with HR and VP on required disciplinary actions and fill out the appropriate documentation.
  25. Fulfill additional responsibilities in the department as needed.

Required Qualifications and education:

  1. A bachelor's degree in operations management or similar field, and/or related equivalent experience.
  2. Must have a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
  3. Must have strong leadership skills and positive proactive attitude.
  4. Positive and pro-active attitude.
  5. Experienced in having good communication skills to work as a team.
  6. Be able to multitask and have good problem-solving skills.
  7. Maintain positive and professional communications to interact with all levels of personnel.
  8. Must be bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.

Required Work Schedule: Mon Fri 7am 4pm

May change depending on workload due to compliances, audits and department inventory resulting in working additional hours as needed in department.

Salary range: $70,000 -$85,000 based on experience, which can be discussed during the interview.
