Senior Accountant

Retina Consultants is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their medical specialty practice in Charleston, West Virginia! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial concepts, and regulatory reporting. This employee is responsible for full cycle accounting activities relating to daily transactions, accounts payable, completing the month-end close process and developing reports for management for our multiple offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month end close with preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and variance analytics
• Manage day-to-day accounting functions to include AP and daily cash reconciliations
• Accurately reconcile accounts, summarize activity, resolve reconciling differences appropriately, review budget to actual variances, and understand the Balance Sheet and P&L impacts of account activity, including classifications of financial statement line items
• Reconciliation of inter-company transactions
• Assist with annual budget process
• Communicate and work with other subsidiaries and departments within the business
• Perform other job‐related duties as requested

Skills/Competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
• Healthcare experience preferred
