Job Description

We are looking for an EMT Instructor to join our team.

This position will be responsible for teaching the Emergency Medical Technician - Basic Program curriculum.
  • Teach lessons and provide oversight to assure that the program content and instructional program complies with the standards and guidelines set forth in the program curriculum with AZDHS r9-25-302.
  • Monitor class sessions to assure program continuity and ensure that each student has the cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills necessary to function as an EMT
  • Organize, schedule and maintain a compliant instructor to student ratio
  • Utilize class time effectively to maintain student engagement while adhering to the course syllabus
  • Provide oversight to assure the quality of the educational experiences of the instructional staff and students
  • Coordinate student placement, transportation and logistics needs to fulfill clinical and/or field experience requirements
  • Input and maintain STITCH list in order to track student success from enrollment to graduation using electronic educational format
  • Schedule programs, maintain and update curriculum in accordance with the guidelines established by the Program Director
  • Schedule instructional psychomotor skills staff and ensure that instructors possess the appropriate skills and knowledge required for presenting specific sessions as outlined in the syllabus
  • Prepare, maintain, procure and inventory all teaching materials and instructional aids
  • Critique and evaluate the results of all written and practical skills evaluations in cooperation with the Program Director
  • Issue, collect and secures daily program evaluations, maintain student records, files examination results
  • Serve as student/faculty liaison
  • Interface with students via email and or electronic educational format
  • Facilitate National Registry psychomotor skills testing and State AZDPH skills testing
  • Maintain a high degree of student satisfaction and success
  • As needed instruct CPR programs


Qualifications
  • Must possess EMCT license at the appropriate level
  • CPR Certification - BLS and/or Instructor
  • Must have two (2) years of academic or clinical experience in the practice of emergency medicine or prehospital care in the last five (5) years.
  • Documented a minimum 24-40 hours in teaching methodology by one (1) of the following courses;
    • Training programs that meet US Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 2002 Guidelines for Education EMS Instructor such as National Association of EMS Educators Course
