Job description

Company Description Excelsior Ambulance Service provides EMS and specialty transport services for hospitals, health systems, communities, event partners, and patients across the Southeast. Founded in 2011, the organization operates throughout Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida, delivering emergency and non-emergency response, 911 services, interfacility transportation, critical care transport, and medical support for special events. As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Excelsior emphasizes high-performance operations, strong clinical capabilities, and reliable system support. EMTs, paramedics, and clinical teams are trained to manage a wide range of patient needs, from basic and advanced life support to complex, high-acuity transports. The company focuses on being a trusted EMS partner and a workplace where clinicians can grow their skills and careers.
Role Description This full-time, on-site EMT-B role is based in Lake City, FL. The EMT-B is responsible for providing basic life support, including patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, airway management, bleeding control, and safe patient movement and transport. Daily tasks include responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, assisting with 911 services, interfacility transports, and specialty or event-related medical coverage, while following established medical protocols and documentation standards. The EMT-B collaborates with paramedics, dispatchers, and healthcare facility staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. The role also involves maintaining vehicle and equipment readiness, restocking supplies, and participating in ongoing training to support Excelsior’s high clinical and operational standards.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in Emergency Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), including response to both emergency and non-emergency calls.
  • Current certification with the U.S. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) at the EMT-B level or higher, with eligibility to practice in Florida.
  • Foundational knowledge of Medicine and prehospital care, including basic life support practices; experience working alongside Paramedic teams is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform thorough patient assessments, follow clinical protocols, and complete accurate, timely documentation.
  • Valid state EMT license, BLS/CPR certification, and a clean driving record suitable for operating emergency vehicles.
  • Strong communication skills, commitment to patient safety, and ability to work effectively in high-stress environments and diverse communities.
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to participate in ongoing education and skills training.
