QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SYSTEM INTEGRATION ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.


Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The selected candidate will be a member of the Field and Integration Test team responsible for Integration activities between the Test Facility and the Operational environment.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions for integrating and testing in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems, and/or systems
  • Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Establish functional and technical specifications and standards, solve hardware/software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem
  • Review, evaluate, and derive requirements for testability, develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems
  • Coordinate subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations
  • Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive subsystem and/or system-level evaluation reports that verify and validate system performance
  • Write discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems, and systems
  • Some travel may be required

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 5 years of experience or a related advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience
  • The position requires an IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc. (Current certification is preferred but must be obtained within 60 days of the start date)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Windows, Linux skills in system administration and/or integration
  • Experience in troubleshooting of small to large-scale infrastructure
  • Ability to cooperatively develop integration plans/procedures from sources such as functional/performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of the test resources, execute these detailed integration procedures, analyze integration results, and present the results orally and in written format
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Should have either knowledge of or practical experience with DoD test methodologies and terminology and previous test and integration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Network architecture and device knowledge
  • Scripting skills for data mining and formatted display of data
  • Experience within the Mission Defense realm and previous test and integration
  • Experience with operational systems (e.g., Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g., GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis package
  • Network architecture and device knowledge and scripting skills for data mining and formatted display of data
  • Current (or ability to obtain) a Top-Secret clearance

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.


Salary Range

$120,000 - $183,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
