Factory Cost Accountant/Specialist

An electronics manufacturing operation on a strong growth curve is seeking a cost and inventory accountant/specialist to be part of a team to implement new systems to enable the company to grow.  The company has been. established since 1997, was purchased by a boutique private equity group and has been on a growth curve since with defense contracts and patented product development.

Over the past year, the company has had professionally built an inventory system which is being extended to a BOM management and production materials management tool which will form the core of operations.  

This is suited to an individual who wants to make a difference and help shape the operations of a company to meet in order to meet its demands for national and international growth in the military component and industrial public safety telecoms space.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to

- Inventory administration and data entry of inventory items including provisioning for RMAs, MRB, Scrap etc

- Entering BOMs, releasing and managing work orders

- Tracking all materials through the manufacturing lifecycle

- Working with production and engineering to ensure materials required are available or procured

- Feeding relevant data to the accounting group

- Facilitate in new part/vendor acquisition and selection for new projects based on engineering specifications

- Manage the procurement process within the company system

- Negotiate best prices

- Ensuring materials efficacy from procurement, inventory, outside services, shipping, and accounting

- Work with the company team to take the internal system to the next level

- Train colleagues with system functionality

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 7 years cost accounting and systems experience

- Ideally a CPA or advanced degree

- Excellent knowledge of ERP systems

- Advanced Excel skills (upto or beyond building macros)

- Very high attention to detail   

The company has 100% of its operations in the USA and exports worldwide.  It has approximately 40 employees (and growing) of which 20% are engineers involved in new product and process engineering.  The company is multicultural with English being the business language within the company.
