The Project Manager is responsible for planning and organizing projects across various departments at Women's Healthcare Associates. They coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to execute project plans in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and initiatives.

The Project Manager is the journey-level of the Project Management series. Positions in this classification may be flexibly staffed from the level, or equivalent or filled through an appropriate recruitment process. The Project Manager II and III is distinguished from the Project Manager I by the nature, experience and complexity of work assignments.

DUTIES

  • Develops, manages and executes project plans adhering to established Project Management processes and WHA's strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Coordinates, organizes, and performs the services and associated work activities/methods of assigned project(s) to meet the overall project goals.
  • Partner with project champion to define the scope of the assigned project(s) or project elements including stakeholders, team members, impact of project, and events that may impact the completion of the project; performs critical path analyses and sets project priorities; develops project task lists and time estimates to meet project goals and objectives. Makes recommendations for potential difficulties and/or barriers to project goals and seeks guidance to address challenges.
  • Assists in creating a positive and supportive work environment that demonstrates a culture of teamwork and communication; participates in creating a workplace that promotes the organizational values of workplace diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Partners with project champion to assemble project teams and allocate individual responsibilities. Assigns project team and individual responsibilities, identifies necessary resources, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Gathers data, reports, analyzes and assists in planning for next steps or for project closure.
  • Monitors and regularly communicates project objectives, scope and progress against project plan. Makes recommendations to adjust project plans as necessary to ensure project completion within constraints of scope, time, budget and quality.
  • Coordinates and directs project plan changes with assigned team members.
  • Acts as a liaison between the project team and other organizational stakeholders. Facilitates effective communication between stakeholders.
  • Participates in development of formal project management processes and methodologies.
  • Encourages and assists with utilization and implementation of various process improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Effectively utilizes change management principles in alignment with WHA's strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Prepares and provides formal and informal presentations and reports providing updates and other relevant information on the status of projects and keeps the Executive Leadership Team updated.
  • Maintains consistent project documentation.
  • Partners with the project champion and/or department area manager(s) and experts regarding project task status updates.
  • Organizes, facilitates and participates in meetings of stakeholder groups to identify needs and partner with project champion to build alignment and collaboration amongst the project stakeholders and team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience coordinating projects and/or process improvement projects, required; 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.

Additional Licenses, Certifications and/or Specialty Requirements:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to drive to various WHA sites and meetings.
