Principal Responsibilities:

Position Summary: The Weinstein School at the MJCCA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team and provide comprehensive health care services to the children in our preschool program. The Nurse will play a vital role in ensuring the overall well-being and health of students and campers promoting a safe and healthy environment, and collaborating with staff, parents, and healthcare professionals.

General responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

• Management, preparation, and oversight of the medical needs of MJCCA Preschools

• Provide Emergency Treatment and First Aid of students, campers, and staff members.

• Identify the health needs of students and campers through assessment, health histories, screening programs, observations, and conferences with parents, health care providers, and school staff.

Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of all students, campers and staff members during the course of the school/camp day, including monitoring of students with allergies, asthma and / or other Health Conditions.

• Comply with the State of Georgia, DECAL/Bright From the Start requirements for childcare centers and camps including proper health procedures, communicable disease reporting and immunization compliance.

• Prepare and complete yearly DOH audit of health forms, including Immunization forms and Health Exam Forms by date indicated.

• Maintain and update individual and cumulative health and immunization records.

• Prepare reports for DECAL and The Department of Child and Family Services as required.

• Develop/revise health policies, procedures and standing orders as well as appropriate medical routines including record keeping in the daily medical logs, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medication.

• Assist in the formation of health policies, goals and objectives for the school, camp and MJCCA Preschools.

• Order, inventory and oversee the storage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment for all programs and the JCC including basic supply kit for each school and camp group.

• Plan and implement health management protocols for the children in the programs with chronic health conditions, including the administration of medication.

• Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases through preventive immunization programs, early detection, surveillance and reporting of contagious diseases.

• Administer first aid and emergency treatment to students/campers/participants and employees.

• Address a wide array of medical conditions and make appropriate referrals to other health care providers as needed.

• Implement staff CPR/First Aid trainings for preschool staff.

• Participate, organize, or lead staff training pertaining to health and safety, CPR, first aid and use of universal precautions for infection control for school, camp and JCC staff.

• Orient and educate staff annually on health conditions, Emergency Management protocols, and Allergy Protocols as well as preventative interventions to comply with.

• Keep and record accident / incident reports that can be used for risk-management assessment.

• Monitor health of students/campers and communicate with parents via phone and/or notes regarding their children. Inform parents of infectious diseases in their child's class via email.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.

• Prior experience working as a nurse.

• Knowledge of current health issues, best practices in school health, and applicable laws and regulations.

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse populations.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.

This is a Full-Time position.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
