Controller

Purpose: Under the general direction of the SVP Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or designee, the Controller oversees and directs accounting operations of CBC. Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). Coordinates, prepares and reviews all information needed for the annual audit with external auditors. Responsible for preparing the financial statements for CBC, CBC IPA and IMSNY joint venture.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in non-profit administration.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central Financial Management, accounting systems and collaborative technology tools.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Microsoft applications.
• Track record of effective collaboration within a direct service organization with a complex array of programs and funding sources.
• Unwavering commitment to quality and data-driven reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting system to ensure GAAP compliance and financial reporting.
• Review, approve and post all entries for CBC, CBC IPA and IMSNY.
• Monthly financial close within 15 days of month end and a complete reconciliation within 30 days of the month end.
• Review of general ledger to ensure accuracy of expenses to the respective grants, departments and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• In conjunction with the Manager of Revenue Cycle Management, implement procedures and reconciliation for Accounts Receivable to ensure that the Health Home AR aging remains current and funds are collected in a timely manner.
• Responsible for treasury operations, vendor payments and the weekly disbursement of Health Home pass-through revenue to the CMAs.
• Prepares financial statements as well as all supporting schedules for CBC, CBC IPA and IMSNY.
• Lead role in the annual external fiscal audit and coordinating the audit process.
• Assist with the single audit. Including but not limited to preparation of schedules and gathering of supporting documents.
• Collaborate with auditors in preparing all schedules and supporting documents for the 990 as well as tax filings for CBC IPA and IMSNY.
• Responsible for the submission of the Certified Fiscal Reports (CFR).
• Work closely with the VP’s and senior management to provide support and analysis for monthly, quarterly and yearly comparisons.
• Assist the CFO and VP’s with the annual budget and various special projects as deemed necessary.
• Partner with the Fiscal Grants Manager to analyze and forecast grant spending and make recommendations.
• Maintain CBC fiscal policies and periodically assess the efficiency of CBC workflows and recommend changes when necessary.
