Job Summary

This Quality Engineer is responsible for the generation of Quality Assurance plans for assigned projects; resolving bugs, defects, and other issues; and ensuring the project meets customer performance, functional and quality specifications. Duties include creating the quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability, and performance. This position is also responsible for the root cause and corrective action activities for internal production processes and external supplier processes.

  • Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality.
  • Familiarity and use of Quality Management Systems
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for change.
  • Work together with relevant departments to improve efficiency of product design during transition to manufacturing and throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Report (FAIR).
  • Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and perform Preproduction Parts Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Analyzes program quality and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identifies customer requirements in contractual documentation and ensures the project fulfills those requirements.
  • Interact with other departments to translate engineering designs, specifications, and other concepts for products and services realization.
  • Supports assigned project or operations team by providing analysis and expertise throughout the inspection and implementation process.
  • Identifies root causes of problems in the production process; recommends and/or implements corrective measures.
  • Cross functional support in the review and selection processes for suppliers.
  • Maintain the approved vendor list (AVL).
  • Reviewing incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.
  • Conducting tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues.
  • Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Extensive experience in a quality assurance environment required.
  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • In-depth understanding of industry market trends and conditions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Basic mathematical arithmetic skills.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering preferred
