Description of Duties: Under general supervision, performs coatings testing and evaluation.
POSITION SUMMARY
• Performs metallographic processes such as sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching per customer specifications.
• Performs coating evaluations and issues lab reports.
• Assists and manages projects related to Central Coatings Laboratory (CCL).
• Performs and manages projects related to coating evaluation.
• Performs test data processing utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.
• Calibrates and sets-up standardized material/metallographic testing stations.
• Viewing samples using optical microscopy equipment.
Education, Experience and Qualifications
• Minimum high School Diploma
• 5+ years’ Central Coatings Laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of various coatings such as thermal spray, plasma spray, HVOF, thermal barrier and environmental barrier.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Ability to relate to topics which require an acute understanding or specialized knowledge.
• Ability to pay meticulous attention to all aspects of a situation or task, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Standing / sitting time ratio is 80/20, respectively.
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. We will require proof of status prior to employment.
