Job Description:
The Applications Lab Technician is responsible for preparing a wide variety of bench samples for the Evaluation Team. The ideal candidate will effectively cooperate with other team members and other departments to support the turnaround of our projects. The candidate will gain hand-on experience and knowledge on a broad range of consumer products. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Cosmetic Chemist.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in completion of application requests to BAC standards by ensuring all necessary materials are present (fragrance oils, wax/base, wicks if needed, labels are printed) and accurately completed according to the instructions on each request. Communicate with team members if any needed items for the request are missing. Final samples will be given to the assigned Evaluation team member.
  • Check for priority requests for the day. These requests must be completed in a timely fashion before other requests.
  • Subtract amount of wax/base used and update inventory accordingly.
  • Maintain inventory of current bases, new incoming bases, containers/vessels and ensuring a sufficient amount of supplies are available for upcoming projects. This should be updated daily. Work with Purchasing team to restock vessels when inventory runs low.
  • Keeping lab space clean and organized and comply with all safety and SOP procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Previous lab experience preferred but not needed.
    • Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
    • Ability to work well under pressure. And changing dynamics
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office i.e., Word, Excell.
    • Ability to perform basic percentage calculations.
    • Detail oriented
    • Deadline oriented.
    • Excellent ability to work with and communicate with others to accomplish tasks efficiently and thoroughly.
    • Ability to learn and follow various standard operating procedures.
  • Cognitive (Reasoning):
    • Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
  • Communication:
    • Good communication skills in both written and oral formats.

  • Physical Capabilities
    • Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion):
      • Must be able to lift 30-lbs onto waist high shelves
      • Must be able to lift and carry a min of 25lbs.
    • Movement: Employee will frequently use fingers, walk and distinguish basic colors. Employee will continuously use both hands, sit for extended periods of time, and use rapid or well-developed coordination simultaneously.
    • Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
    • Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly.
