2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor

Studco Building Systems in looking for a Logistics Supervisor to support our 2nd shift team! 2nd shift hours are 3PM to 12 AM.

The 2nd Shift Logistics Supervisor is responsible to complete and coordinate the day-to-day operational functions of the 2nd shift team is relation to material handling, picking, packing and truck loading Studco’s product range for successful distribution to customers. This role will work collaboratively with various departments such as Production, Planning and Sales to ensure all product is shipped accurately and in full daily, while also setting up the Logistics team for ongoing success by utilizing remaining time each night to prepare the next day’s work for first shift.

Job responsibilities:

• Management of all second shift logistics staff
• Operate a sit down forklift efficiently and safely to execute alongside the team any/all activities daily needed including material handling, breakdowns and truck loading.
• Motivate staff – build a can-do culture.
• Complete biweekly one on one meetings and bi-annual performance assessments
• Support team members with feedback on areas for improvement and growth opportunities
• Assist with regular cycle counting of finished goods as requested by first shift supervisor
• Tenaciously focus on product quality to ensure customer expectations are met
• Quality check all orders being loaded for delivery following Studco SOP’s to ensure accuracy and safe (undamaged) delivery of customer orders
• Support investigation, problem solving, and resolution for any delivery issues that may arise
• Support office personnel with payroll, recruiting, training, performance management and termination of 2nd shift team members as required
• Enforce company policies and procedures as it concerns logistics staff
• Administer company safety programs ensuring all team members are in compliance
• Continuously analyze and recommend changes to process improvement, lean 5S initiatives and departmental cost savings
• Liaise with production and planning team regarding lead times for outstanding orders and custom products.
• Elevate and communicate to 8x8 escalation chats when any customers are expected to short ship so we can problem solve solutions immediately.
• Communicate with drivers nightly when their loads are ready and address any immediate needs they may have as applicable.
• Assist in 5S control of warehouse area and completion of daily checklists
• Responsible for team building and staff discipline.
