Job Description

For nearly 70 years, our East Bay client has been manufacturing and distributing industrial components for the aerospace, medical, semiconductor, medical and automotive industries to name a few! Due to an upcoming maternity leave for an internal employee, we have a need to fill a 4-6+ month contract role. This is an incredible opportunity to keep your skills sharp and support an industry leader!

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm

Compensation: $18-$20/hr. (Commensurable upon experience)

Pre-hire Requirements: E-Verify, 7-year criminal check.

Assignment: Temp 3 month contract

Responsibilities:

Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and arranging for transportation.
Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues or delays. Provide updates on shipment status as needed.
Prepare shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs paperwork. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
Inspect products for quality and accuracy before shipment. Identify any damaged or defective items and report them to the appropriate department.
Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular inventory counts. Notify appropriate personnel of low stock levels or discrepancies.
Process orders accurately and efficiently using shipping software or company systems. Ensure that orders are picked, packed, and shipped in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements: We're looking for candidates with:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 20 pounds, and to stand for extended periods.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling small items and operating equipment.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
