Mechanic/Assembler

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
2. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
3. Able to decipher blueprints explaining how to build equipment.
4. Math skills including fractions and angles.
5. Ability to read tape measures and angle finders.
6. Ability to lift 35 pounds.
7. Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down, and overhead.
8. Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
9. Maintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delays.
10. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
11. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
12. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

1. Complete required test documentation including test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
2. Assemble and test hydraulic assemblies according to Columbia specifications.
3. Manufacturing hydraulic hose assemblies
4. Make up tube assemblies.
5. Welds/Fits in a manufacturing environment.
6. Communicates effectively with other workers.
7. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
8. Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
9. Respectfully takes direction from supervisor or manager.
10. Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
11. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
12. Assist FSR team commissioning, inspections, troubleshoot and repair of equipment at customer location.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

5 + years of industry experience preferred.

Education and/or Equivalent Experience

High School diploma or GED preferred.

Some technical training and education preferred.

Training, Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Required Licenses: CI: FCAW certificate

Training: CI: Forklift, Crane, hydraulic, electrical

Critical Skills

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze, and effectively present information.

Mathematical Skills: Advanced mathematical concepts

Computer Skills: Basic computer skill required.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, interpret, and collect data.

Physical Demands

Occasionally: Stand and lift 35 pounds frequently.

Regularly: Use hands to finger, handle or feel, and travel offsite/field service, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms

Frequently: Sit and talk or hear

Vision Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus.
