Production Supervisor

Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:00pm - 3:00am (OT and Weekends, as required)
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, some of the Production Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to overseeing, directing, and coordinating activities of associates engaged in the production of high-quality products. This person will also be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing new methods and procedures to improve productivity of quality products, while ensuring safety and quality. This position requires strong leadership skills, people and process development is critical in this role.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation procedures. B.S. or B.A. degree in business management or relevant filed, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- ERP systems experience
- USDA experience, HACCP and SQF certifications are a plus.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure “Safety First” is always practiced and observes and adheres to all job safety rules.
- Abide by all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
- Ensures that production area is always “audit ready”.
- Supervises and directs personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
- Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift.
- Ensures that established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift.
- Anticipates and determines causes of delays in shift operations and takes appropriate action to meet shipping schedules.
- Prepares required forms for shift including verifying production quantities reported and scanned and the correctness of machine reports and Work Orders.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Prepares and Sends Production KPI Reports at end of shift to summarize schedule attainment and shift performance.
- Maintains KPI tracking files accurately and on-time.
- May sub for Manufacturing Manager in that person's absence.
- Manage employee schedules and ensure correct crewing and de-crewing processes are being followed in accordance with crewing standards.
- Ensure the safety of all employees in the operation of equipment through proper training, enforcement of safety rules, documentation, and following proper procedures and GMP protocols. 
- Adherence to good manufacturing practices and government standards in cooperation with the Quality Assurance department.
- Responsible for corrective action on food safety and quality problems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop frontline staff to drive productivity, efficiencies, and yields.
- Train and/or arrange for training of new employees. Maintain regular schedule of training updates for all employees.
- Trains and enforces safety programs such as HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, etc.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 60 lbs., reach in all directions, push, pull, see, hear, talk, and communicate effectively, climb stairs, use feet, hands and fingers, twist, turn, walk without assistance, operate a computer, and a vehicle, squat, sit, stand and bend.
