Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Millwright to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment within our processing facility. The Journeyman Millwright will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment, minimizing downtime, and contributing to the overall productivity of the facility.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, dismantle, relocate, and assemble machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other specifications.

2. Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

3. Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.

4. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments. Align and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.

5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules.

6. Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.

7. Collaborate with other departments, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

8. Provide training and guidance to junior millwrights and apprentices as needed.

 

Qualifications:

1. Completion of a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program.

2. Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent.

3. Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Millwright in a processing facility or similar environment.

4. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

5. Welding experience and familiarity with various welding techniques.

6. Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

9. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
