We are expanding our team and looking for a Production Engineer to support the continuous improvement of our product and processes.


Job Summary

You will have multiple areas of responsibility for the continuous improvement of existing products, as well as supporting the implementation of new products and design or process changes. If you are a natural problem solver, analytical, self-driven, and motivated by challenge then you can thrive in this environment. We are looking for someone with robust experience in product and process design in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record implementing lean tools and methodologies to drive continuous improvement. Navigating complex problems with clarity, taking ownership, managing multiple projects, and communicating well both verbally and visually with cross-functional peers and company leadership are keys to success.


Responsibilities

· Manage and continuously improve existing products including quality improvements, cost reductions, productivity, as well as new component and supplier qualifications.

· Develop and maintain Engineering specifications, 3D models, drawings, and Bills of Material.

· Develop, document, and improve required tooling and test fixtures, in a timely manner, by liaising with the design and manufacturing teams, to guarantee product quality and operational productivity and efficiency.

· Maintain standard work documentation to support the production lines including Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS), fixture designs, and test protocols.

· Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain to understand constraints and opportunities and follow Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) processes.

· Develop and manage implementation plans with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new designs or changes to the product or process.

· Structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis in support of continuous improvement.

· Develop FMEA (failure mode effects analysis) and Verification Plans for designs and processes.

· Investigate quality issues (internal and external) and utilize technical problem-solving skills to identify root causes and corrective actions.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred (or related technical coursework and additional years of experience).

· 5+ years of combined engineering and manufacturing experience required.

· Experience with Lean tools and methodologies in manufacturing.


Essential Skills and Experience

· Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms.

· 3+ years proven experience in production/industrial engineering (ECNs, BOMs, work instructions, equipment/tooling/fixture/test development, troubleshooting.

· Experience with the design and testing of fans, electric motors, electrical components, pumps, and plastics is desired.

· Project management experience.

· Experience leading or supporting capital projects.

· Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing or six sigma

· Experience with Statistical Analysis and Process capability improvement.

· Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.

· Detail-oriented and excellence driven.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Experience with managing supplier quality.

· Team player and able to work with people in a multi-disciplined organization.

Location will be based in Center, TX with occasional travel up to 25% depending on needs.
