Durex is seeking a Multi-Skilled Operator on 1st Shift within Wire Cloth and Urethane Production.

Are you looking for a full-time position with good benefits, 3 weeks of vacation, offers a starting wage of $17.50 an hour, and after 2 years offers a wage of $20.50 an hour?

Within this position of a Multi-Skilled Operator, employees are on a 2 year pay scale ramp period, and are eligible for a pay increase of up to $0.75 per hour every 6 months until the employee's 2 year anniversary. Following the 2 year ramp period, employees are eligible to receive an annual review. Upon an employee's 5 years of service they will receive 4 weeks of vacation and 5 weeks of vacation at 10 years of service.

Job Summary

Safely and efficiently operates industrial equipment by performing industrial processes to produce and assemble product that match company specifications to meet or exceed customer quality expectations.

Essential Job Functions

-Selects proper tooling, equipment and/or raw material to perform the job

-Reads and interprets blueprints, traveler requirements, and manufacturing instructions

-Sets up process equipment in accordance with product specifications using computerized or manually controlled equipment

-Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner to produce product while adhering to facility and regulatory safety guidelines

-Assembles parts or assemblies into units

-Completes final finishing of product such as flashing removal, sanding, or cutting

-Verifies accuracy of completed product, conducts and records quality inspection

-Lifts and moves heavy objects or materials by hand or the use of a forklift, cart or other material handling equipment

-May operate hand-held tools, electrical tools, and/or pneumatic tools

-Notifies supervisor regarding deficiency and difficulties with tool, materials, or malfunctions of equipment

-Applies quality control measures, uses precision measuring devices, and accurately records measurements

-Records and reports production labor hours, along with the quantity and quality of the product

-Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner

-Performs all other related duties as required or assigned Welding Nonessential Job Functions

-Operates MIG, stick and oxy/acetylene welding equipment

-Assembles metals preparatory to welding. Preheats, cleans, lays out, cuts and fits material for welding

-Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding

-Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications

-Fabricating and assembling jigs and fixtures

-Set-ups, regulates, maintains and makes minor repairs on welding equipment

-Operates iron worker for punching and cutting steel

Shipping Nonessential Job Functions

-Builds pallets and packages shipments using appropriate packaging that ensures safe delivery of the product

-Review the product/parts being shipped to ensure it meets order and quality requirements

-Receives deliveries and materials, completes required paperwork, and distributes to appropriate area or person

-Loads and unloads trucks with forklift

-Enter required information into computer and completes necessary paperwork as mandatory for shipping and receiving

-Assist with inventory as needed; properly organizes and stores steel components

Requirements and Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Typically requires one to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
