Job Description

POSITION: Facilities Coordinator

LOCATION: Majestic Theatre, Charline McCombs Empire Theatre, and the Espee

HOURS: Full Time- flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

COMPENSATION: $35k-40K salary

ABOUT THE POSITION

ATG Entertainment is looking for a detail orientated team player with strong verbal and written communication skills to join the expanding Facilities department. The Facilities Coordinator reports to the Assistant Facilities Manager and will support the day-to-day operations and maintenance and event operations of the ATG San Antonio venues (Majestic Theatre, Empire Theatre and The Espee)

This is an exciting opportunity that requires a proactive multitasker who has the ability to anticipate building needs in both these dynamic venues. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated to work independently and able to work well under pressure. Due to the unique nature of this position the regular working hours will mainly consist of weekends and evenings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting daily maintenance tasks such as HVAC system checks, Fire Panel checks, plumbing and mechanical trouble shooting to ensure building systems are functioning optimally.
• Monitor the BMS/HVAC systems to ensure desired temperature throughout the venue and handle immediate issues
• Responding promptly to maintenance request from front of house and back of house staff, addressing any issues that may arise during performances.
• Conducting pre-show inspections of the buildings facilities to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
• Oversee housekeeping* department during pre-show, show time, and post-show
• Collaborate and effectively communicate with Facilities Department and individual venue management teams
• Administrative tasks, including facilities performance reports, and maintenance logs
• Performing minor repairs as needed to maintain the appearance and functionality of the building.

  • You will need to collaborate and effectively communicate with building departments, including but not limited to management and front of house staff.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

  • Overall knowledge of HVAC, elevator and MEP operations and maintenance in both venues.
  • Complete routine maintenance in and around the venue, including but not limited to; carpets and nosing, floor tiles, bar equipment, handrails, minor plumbing (sinks, toilet & shower fixtures) and other building fixtures and hardware.
  • Removal/ installation of appliances, for example plumbing and door fixtures.
  • Regular upkeep of roof & storm drains and other in-house drainage systems
  • Apply special attention to patron-facing spaces, such as lobbies and bar spaces, which may require such tasks as sanding, drywall, spackling, grouting/ caulking and touch-up painting to ensure they remain in pristine condition.
  • Order materials and follow internal accounting procedures, including vendor set up and receipt of items on the internal PO system.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with Facilities Department and individual venue management teams.
  • Facilitate monthly and annual checks of the fire extinguishers.
  • Additional short and long term preventative maintenance, repairs and capital projects as directed by Facilities Manager in conjunction with venue management team.

COMPETENCIES

  • Licensed in related trades a plus
  • Experience with Historic Buildings
  • Must be able to multi-task and respond effectively in a time sensitive environment.  
  • Strong follow-up and attention to detail are required.  
  • The physical requirements of the position may include heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.     
  • The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently while exercising judgement and initiative.
