Position Summary

 

Our Producer is part of the Operations engine of Splashlight and is responsible for coordinating all elements of a photoshoot: the project, shoot planning, art buying, and budget management. They are highly organized, methodical, and able to prioritize a multitude of tasks under the pressure of tight deadlines. As the operators of each shoot, they must be skilled in maintaining and continuously improving upon organizational workflow efficiencies and possess the know-how to manage multiple, often overlapping accountabilities with speed and grace.


Primary Responsibilities & Tasks

 

Implementing & Improving Production Workflows:


  • Assess the urgency of client requests and make informed decisions that support client’s needs and objectives while maintaining proper balance with studio schedules and workflows.
  • Oversee studio calendar bookings, maximizing occupancy by understanding studio needs, timelines, and end-use for content.
  • Manage client’s post-production deadlines and track digital assets through multiple stages of asset delivery.
  • Assist in the efficiency and organization of the production team and workflow while maintaining the quality of product line & premium photography.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with all clients, Splashlight departments, and senior management to effectively assist in the management of requests across departments.
  • Ensure that Art Directors, Stylists, Photographers, and Retouchers adhere to style guides, capture, and photography workflows to ensure all deadlines are met.


Grow and Maintain Relationships: 


  • Collaborate with the in-house Creative Team to build talent team pools (i.e. Photographers, Stylists, Models, etc.) and assist with scheduling for all staff & freelance talent for both product line & premium photography.
  • Manage projects within client relationships, working to carry out client goals while meeting company goals.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of a diverse talent pool.
  • Assist in the development of an appropriate talent resource structure to support the organization’s immediate needs and long-term needs.
  • Act as a role model for junior team members and enforce the Splashlight Principles.


Grow Revenue: 


  • Actively take part in creative discussions to help provide budget-conscious, creative solutions that can be most seamlessly executed. 
  • Build shoot estimates and negotiate rates with agencies, outside vendors, and talent.
  • Reconcile billing for all designated projects.
  • Business Acumen and fiscal responsibility. 
  • Analytic approach to building project estimates.
  • Identify opportunities for increased production efficiencies.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE

 

  • 1-2 years of Photo and/or Video production experience (e-commerce, retail, editorial, advertising, etc) including 2+ years’ experience in managing a photo & production team, scheduling resources appropriate to job requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Marketing/Advertising, Film/TV or work-experience equivalent.
  • Comfortable operating in an evolving environment characterized by fast and changing deadlines.
  • Experience in planning and executing photo & video shoots from start to finish.
  • On-set photoshoot experience working closely with clients.
  • Understanding of lighting and photography, both technically and creatively.
  • Working knowledge of Google Office, Digital Asset Management programs, Adobe Creative Suite,  FTP software.
  • Possesses an inspiring work ethic with the ability to drive teams to an extreme level of quality and performance.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of skill sets.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and able to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiastic, positive energy, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and can work with little supervision.
  • Nimble and agile to provide solutions for changing demands.
  • Self-motivated, highly-organized, goal-oriented team player with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
