The Cybersecurity Analyst will support the Cybersecurity Coordinator in the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer. The main responsibility will be processing and assessing applications for cybersecurity training program certification, per Texas Government Code Section 2054.519, to determine whether the programs sufficiently address the established cybersecurity content areas. This includes, but is not limited to, all portions of the assessment lifecycle, including logging and tracking submissions, viewing programs, assessing programs against established requirements, documenting results of assessments, communicating with applicants, and responding to related external stakeholder inquiries. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with other similar initiatives such as processing and assessing applications for cybersecurity program best practice certificates based on established criteria.
Possess current knowledge of Information Technology with a demonstrable security focus or major components, as well as knowledge of cybersecurity terms and concepts. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Maintains a professional work ethic and attends required meetings/staffing.
2+ years of experience in Information Technology with a security focus, and a CISSP, or any GIAC, CISM/A, CRISC, CEH, OSCP or Security+ certification.
