Sr. Engineer II - Substation Development

Manpower Las Vegas, we are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Engineer II - Substation Development to provide comprehensive design services for substation facilities. This pivotal role ensures that projects are executed on schedule and within budget, while also providing leadership and expertise to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design economically viable, technically feasible, and reliable substation physical and control layouts.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, offering engineering solutions and guidance on complex issues.
• Lead and direct an engineering team to ensure quality drawing and engineering production.
• Develop accurate cost estimates to assist in company budgeting and identify cash flow requirements.
• Maintain coordination and communication with other departments to adhere to project schedules and budgets.
• Contribute to the development of detailed project timelines and keep the project management system updated.
• Monitor project expenditures and practice cost control to meet financial commitments.
• Ensure quality control and provide construction support through site inspections and coordination with construction teams.
• Assist other departments with non-standard or complex substation design challenges.
• Oversee and evaluate the work of department staff to ensure high standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least 15 years of industry experience in a highly technical and specialized role within engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of substation/control engineering principles, economic analysis, budgeting procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Proven ability to direct and coordinate a team of engineers, technicians, and designers.
• Strong independent decision-making skills and the capability to solve unusual problems.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Proficient with PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Work Environment:

• This position is based in a general office environment with no special physical demands.
