Wood Mill Worker/Jointer

Founded in 1937 in Pomona, CA with a second location headquartered in Kaufman, TX, Galleher Industries (“Galleher”) is a manufacturer and value-added distributor of metal and lumber components to commercial truck body and trailer manufacturers. We are fast growing and changing the landscape of the truck and trailer manufacturing industry.

Milling various hardwood planks of various lengths. Includes moulding, fingerjointing operations, cutting, surfacing, ripping, cross-cutting, raw hardwood lumber material as needed. Complete set up and operation of Moulder, Finger jointing line, planer, rip saw, and other lumber milling equipment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years previous lumber milling or woodwork milling experience.
• Prior Experience in the operation and set up of woodworking machinery (Table saws, miter saws, jointers, shapers, wide belt sanders, planers, etc.)
• Prior experience in the operation and set up of moulders and fingerjointing
• Be able to read, understand, and execute detailed mill orders, cut lists, and scaled shop drawings.
• Be in good physical condition and capable to handle, move, and mill lumber planks up to 28’ long.
• Be meticulous, organized, and work well with others; ·
• Spot-check quality of work by periodically using measuring equipment and visual inspection
• Detect and report defective, questionable, and damaged materials to your manager.
• Collaborator willing to cross trained in a variety of work duties.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
• Read, comprehend, and follow instructions, and take pride in final product.

High School Diploma or GED

• Must have daily reliable transportation.
• Must have 2 years minimum lumber milling or woodwork milling experience.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check as well as maintain drug free employment.
• Must report any safety risks, maintenance issues, or machine malfunctions to the manager right away through written or verbal communications.
• Required to effectively communicate written and verbally coordinate with Sales department to meet specification and or verify quality acceptance by customer.
• Knowledge of various hand tools, measuring and guiding devices
• Well organized and able to prioritize work activities and tasks, as well as those of fellow team members to achieve maximum productivity.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds.
