We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer for our Baltimore, MD office.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform dry and wet weather field investigations on an urgent-needs basis, potentially under confined space entry conditions
  • Assess structural and functional condition of drainage assets
  • Manage field activities and communicate engineering solutions
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and computations
  • Prepare drainage design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for construction
  • Communicate with client, contractors and public to determine needs and explain complex issues
  • Review contractor submittals
  • Utilize outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Have an understanding of safety guidelines

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4+ years of hydrology/hydraulics/drainage/SWM/ESC design experience in Maryland and surrounding states.
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer or education and experience required to pursue registration a plus.
  • Experience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP’s, erosion and sediment controls; and preparing contract documents in accordance with Maryland DOT and local municipality policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Maryland DOT and local municipality specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with H/H design software including NRCS (TR-55/TR-20); HydroCAD, StreamStats, HEC-RAS, et. al.
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStation CADD software.
  • Excellent reputation as an engineering professional.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
