Quality Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing all the quality activities in the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance to established standards of corporate objectives and regulated agencies for industry through the planning, development, and implementation of the Quality Management System that supports the business objectives and resources. The Quality Supervisor reports to the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises Quality Team and sets goals and objectives for quality improvement, productivity and efficiency. Conducts regular meetings with Quality Team and provide feedback on Quality’s performance, trends and efficiency.
• Collaborates with other departments through all stages of manufacturing until parts are shipped to customers to ensure specification of the products are met.
• Ensures customer’s requirements are met and communicated throughout the organization.
• Coordinates activities internally and create standards that are required to meet customers’ specifications and requirements.
• Prepares training materials and conducts training required for the improvement and conformance to the QMS.
• Responsible for the effective control of nonconforming products. Leads MRB meetings and brainstorming root causes, corrective and preventive actions.
• Acts as the customer liaison; responds to customers’ quality-related requests (PPAP, First Article submissions, Product Compliance certifications), surveys, provides RMAs and corrective actions to customers as needed.
• Works closely with Sales Team to help win or grow business opportunities by responding to customers’ surveys and external audits in a timely and efficient manner.
• Monitors suppliers’ quality performance and ensures products received and processed by suppliers conform to BHI’s quality requirements.
• Attends Management Review Meetings and reports performance of Quality Objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Abides by all company policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook, policy manuals, work instructions, bulletins and dated memos.
• Supervises and provides training to all quality personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college/university or equivalent job experience.
• Education comprising of ten years with Quality experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), AS-9102 First.
• Article, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Measuring Systems.
• With related units of education in Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Must effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The Quality Manager shall have certified training in Quality Engineering or Quality Systems that includes, but not limited to AS-9100 / ISO-9001 internal auditing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: Stand and walk, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach. The employee is frequently required to bend over, lean in, stoop or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift up to 35lbs. Specific vision abilities to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
