Job Title
Aerial Laborer
Job Summary
Shall assist the assigned crew by furnishing tools, materials, and supplies; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; holding materials or tools for other workers; and performing traffic control duties as directed by the crew leader. At a minimum, the position requires familiarity with hand tools, ladders, and vehicles and the functionality of each.
General Accountabilities
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist Foreman/or operator in construction work
- Take instruction from the Foreman
- Complete duties as assigned
- Operate all necessary tools related in the utility industry
- Assure that all tools are accounted for and returned to a truck
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
- Set up all road safety signs, cones and barrels before the job and assure all are accounted for at the end of every day
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
- Clean all trash from job site
- Control traffic
- Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools
- Shoring braces and other temporary structures
- Operate hand and power tools of all types
- Recognize and identify utility locates and meaning
- Always have something to do (i.e., grease equipment, clean trucks/trailor/tools, etc) when “down time” is necessary
- Candidates must be able to pass Chauffeur License
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes
- Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed
- Must be able to read and understand construction prints
- Candidates must be able to operate a bucket truck & climb poles

Job Qualifications
- Identify material, methods and the tools involved in the field
- Identify machine and tools, their designs, uses
- Policies, procedures and strategies to promote safety
- Ability to listen to and implement directions
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, drug screen and background check
- Must have valid driver license
- 0-1 year of experience utility industry
- Knowledge of pole framing, placement of strand
