Injection Molding Supervisor-2nd Shift

1. JOB TITLE DESCRIPTION:

• The Injection Molding Supervisor or designate is responsible for the coordination and organization of efforts to maintain daily production activities at LAW Plasman Inc./ Plasman Corp LLC

1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• This position Directly reports to: Operations Manager

1. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

The responsibilities and authorities for this position include, but are certainly not limited to:

• Organize equipment and manpower to meet daily production requirements as set out by the Materials/Scheduling Manager/Supervisor
• Coordinate set-up and process procedures
• Contact maintenance personnel for necessary equipment repairs
• Complete and/or review production sheets & reports and forward information to the production control department or input production data into database
• Communicate daily production activities,to the Operations Manager, General Manager and/or Materials/Scheduling Manager/Supervisor
• Assist in the implementation of Continuous Improvement activities with all personnel
• Ensure all employees receive job appropriate training and understand all job tasks
• Issue Corrective Action as per Collective Agreement
• Issue Corrective Actions as set out in the Employee Handbook
• Promote an atmosphere of team work at all times
• Investigate and report on all workplace injuries, property damage or near miss incidents
• Complete daily schedule control sheet
• Ensure personal and associate awareness and understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 (includes ISO 9001) Standards, and company policies and procedures.
• During management system audit events provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary.
• Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
• Complete any other duties as assigned
• Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
• Actively participate in maintaining positive employee relations and a safe working environment

1. HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

4.1 The Production Supervisor is responsible for complying with the Company Health & Safety Program including Occupational Health & Safety Legislation, regulations, standards and Company Health & Safety policies. Reference: JDA-002 Supervisor Health & Safety Responsibilities (Addendum to Supervisor Job Descriptions).

1. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum education qualifications:

• Must possess a secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program.

1. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the following minimum work experience qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years direct Supervisory experience or equivalent
• Minimum 2-5 years direct experience with Plastic Injection Molding.

1. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

7.1 Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities

7.2 Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant

7.3 Ability to perform well in high pressure situations

7.4 Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.

• Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
