PreOp/PACU Nurse Manager (RN) - Inova Oakville ASC

Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center is currently seeking an experienced PreOp/PACU or Perianesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) Manager to oversee the PreOp/PACU staff and ensure the delivery of top-notch patient care, in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in caring for Adult and Pediatric patients in one or more of the following surgical specialties: ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, and Urology. The Oakville facility will also introduce the first DaVinci Robot in the Inova Outpatient Surgery arena.

The Inova Oakville Ambulatory Surgery Center, situated in the Potomac Yards area of Alexandria (400 Fannon St. Alexandria VA), is nearing completion in its construction phase. This cutting-edge facility will be a cornerstone of the newly established Inova medical campus, scheduled for inauguration in mid-2024.

Boasting state-of-the-art infrastructure, the center will feature three (3) Operating Rooms, (3) Procedure/GI Suites, and 12 PreOp/PACU bays, all geared towards delivering top-tier medical services to our community.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday-Friday, Day shift (0700 reporting time)
• Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Supervise all PreOp/PACU areas of care, ensuring the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
• Ensure sufficient staffing daily, remain accessible to staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
• Supervise department personnel to ensure staff achieve their potential as members of an effective team
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new staff members; monitor productivity and manage performance
• Assess the staff's educational needs and implement a plan to meet these needs
• Assist the Materials Management team in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and medications in the Surgery suite
• Maintain a collegial relationship with physicians and other ASC stakeholders to ensure quality patient care
• Participate in and monitor quality improvement programs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• A minimum of three (3) years progressive work experience in an outpatient surgery setting or in an acute care hospital, which reflects both clinical and management skills
• Graduate from an accredited nursing institution, BSN or MSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Virginia
• Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications are required
• Competence in oral and written communication skills
