Senior Engineering Manager

HiFyve has a client near Sioux City, IA that is hiring for a Senior Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical and electrical support to production and other departments to maintain production systems, utilities, facilities, and grounds in a 24/7 operation.
• Work with plant management and corporate staff to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness through Continuous Improvement (CI) methods.
• Lead the design and commissioning of capital projects, including presenting project scope and achieving on-time, on-budget completion.
• Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Track, analyze, and report key maintenance performance indicators, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations and codes for mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards in both capital project execution and daily maintenance.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices within the Maintenance Department.
• Promote a safe and environmentally conscious workplace in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage employees directly or through supervisors, ensuring effective recruitment, retention, development, and performance management. May participate in negotiations and contract-related activities in unionized environments.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in an engineering role, with preference for dairy industry experience; experience in the food/beverage industry is required.
• At least 5 years of experience supervising or managing teams.
• Familiarity with union, safety, and workers' compensation issues in unionized facilities is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Required experience in managing capital projects.
• Proven track record of adhering to and promoting safety and security policies.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical systems (motor control circuitry up to 480V 3-phase), and boilers required.
• Proficiency in using CMMS for asset management and scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems and food manufacturing equipment such as filling machines, blow mold machines, air compressors, and conveyors.
