This individual contributor role reports to the Director of Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop robust hardware systems and architectures to support high-performance AI/ML computations with 6079’s Proof of Inference protocol (https://6079.ai).

  • Optimize GPU performance and firmware to enhance the efficiency and scalability of decentralized AI inference tasks.

  • Lead the integration of AI computational processes with blockchain technology, ensuring secure and reliable infrastructure.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of hardware development, from conception through deployment and maintenance.

  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to tailor hardware solutions that meet the specific needs of decentralized applications.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in hardware engineering, with a focus on GPU and firmware development.

  • Extensive knowledge of hardware architecture, embedded systems, and firmware programming.

  • Proficiency in hardware design tools and software, experience with system-on-a-chip (SoC) environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale hardware projects, with a keen understanding of blockchain technology implications on hardware requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong organizational and leadership skills.

What We Offer:
  • Impact: Be part of a growing startup working on cutting-edge technology and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI, making it more accessible and equitable.

  • Culture: Be part of a dynamic, innovative, and inclusive team that values each member's contribution. We are passionate about open-source projects and community engagement within AI.

  • Growth: Opportunities for personal and professional growth in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

  • Well-being: Health benefits and PTO.

  • Flexibility: A fully remote work environment conscious of avoiding meeting overload.

Please submit your resume along with a cover letter and any relevant academic papers or project links. We look forward to exploring how your experience, expertise, and curiosity can contribute to the success of Ai Layer Labs.
