Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for using a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates according to customer specifications and delivery requirements.


SHIFT SCHEDULE

3:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M., Monday - Friday


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches on the press brake.

2. Utilize a CNC controller to input information into the machine and adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.

3. Check height, depth, and thickness using precision-measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and gauges.

4. Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake and work with tight tolerances.

5. Produce parts for assembly operations and perform spot inspections to ensure quality.

6. Perform routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures and ensure the machine is calibrated and cleaned.

7. Read drawings and blueprints to configure bend allowances for sheet metal, including stainless steel, aluminum, and regular steel.

8. Identify assembly parts and set up light gauge metal for bending operations.

9. Check machine for defects and perform repairs if necessary.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or related work preferred.


Specific Skills:

• Math Skills: Good math skills are essential for understanding complex instructions and ensuring items are designed and built correctly.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot machine issues, increase output, and fix errors.

• Attention to Detail: Precision is crucial in press brake operations, requiring keen attention to detail to avoid critical errors.

• Mechanical and Technical Skills: Understanding of CAD/CAM technology and the ability to operate machines controlled by computers.

• Stamina: Press brake operators often work long hours performing repetitive movements.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
