Field Service Representative (Staking Technician)

Summary:
The Field Service Representative (FSR) is the company's point of contact for residential members who request new service, upgrade existing service, and/or relocate company facilities. FSRs will meet with customers, determine their requirements, obtain written agreements/easements, and prepare staking sheets for crews. FSR promotes safe working conditions through compliance with established safety rules

*Successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug test, must have valid NC Driver's License.

Principal Duties and/or Requirements:

• Design routing and layout for electric distribution facilities according to specifications and accepted practices for design and construction in accordance with National Electric Safety Code and NC DOT regulations.
• Prepares easement agreements, locate sheets, estimates, relevant forms and invoices for new construction and services.
• Inventory existing lines to gather data necessary to design new service line construction.
• Meets with contractors and individuals to determine the kind of service to provide for new homes.
• Must be able to establish proper relationships with members and communicate effectively.
• Utilizes software for determining service loads for correct transformer sizing.
• Enters all staked and surveyed information into the digital staking package. Ensures data accuracy and integrity in the GIS for all jobs performed.
• Meets with members wish to discuss the conversion of existing overhead line to underground line.
• Establishes service orders to install and remove security lights and reject poles.
• Recognizes and troubleshoots violations of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) but may need assistance when determining a solution.
• Must have a basic understanding of electricity and single-phase construction.
• Valid driver's license, background check, and drug screen are required.
• Performs other duties as assigned
