Flooring Estimator

Summary: Responsible for estimating project costs for residential flooring and tile, including bid preparation, scope reviews, submittals, and shop drawings, as well as ensuring accurate material orders and detailed installation plans.

Essential Functions:

• Perform precise takeoffs from architectural plans and specs using various software systems.
• Prepare diverse bidding spreadsheets and proposal forms for project bids with accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers on scope and contract reviews.
• Create detailed shop drawings and materials lists for project submittals.
• Estimate project change costs and prepare change order sheets.
• Develop clear and comprehensive installation plans and instructions for field teams.
• Understand product lines, warranties, and installation guidelines.
• Calculate job-specific material quantities, labor rates, and productivity rates.
• Foster relationships with general contractors, product reps, architects, and designers.

Work Environment:

• On-site position with travel to client sites in VA, DC, MD region.
• Monday through Friday workdays; weekend work may be required.

Physical Demands:

• Operation of computers and other office machinery.
• Occasional lifting of product boxes weighing up to 20 pounds for various needs.

Travel Required:

• 50% travel required.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years equivalent field experience.
• Flooring or tile background preferred, with strong math skills.
• Ability to read architectural plans and specs and translate them into accurate and competitive bids.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of RFMS and Procore software preferred.
