About the position:

BayPLS is looking for a dynamic People Partner with a strong work ethic to join us and work on an array of high-impact talent and people-related projects and activities. The People Partner will influence every step of the employee lifecycle and enable us to deliver a truly supportive and seamless candidate/employee experience. This is a role where you might work any of the following on any given day of the week: continuously improving our HRIS, leading recruiting searches, onboarding new employees, partnering with managers, coordinating learning & development efforts, managing employee performance, or helping prepare for a new hire’s first day. In this role, you’ll get to impact every employee’s experience and relationship with BayPLS.

This is an in-office role.

In this position, you will be:

  • Delivering an exceptional hiring and candidate experience by ensuring the prompt management of hiring processes, coordinating scheduling, leading improvements on our ATS, conducting screening calls, and facilitating in-take conversations.

  • Enabling a smooth and successful onboarding experience by managing the process, gathering consistent feedback, and incorporating improvements to improve new hires’ experience continuously.

  • Managing people operations and compliance efforts including policy clarifications or development, and be a go-to resource for people operations and benefits inquiries.

  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, and company policies and procedures which assists with reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Partnering with the CEO to create resources and coordinate projects around performance management, DEIB, learning & development, and employee engagement.

  • Advising and assisting management and employees to respond to employee issues and concerns by interpreting applicable HR policies and procedures and making responsible recommendations in these areas as necessary and appropriate; initiate recommendations for appropriate measures to address underlying problems or issues, including but not limited to, suggestions on policy clarification or development, appropriate training or other development, as appropriate.

  • Providing primary system administration and day-to-day operational support for HR transactions and applications. Assisting with the execution of system changes (updates, integrations, new configurations).

  • Conducting regular audits on HR processes, documents, systems, and data, including hiring, termination, and benefits administration.

  • Optimizing our processes and seeking continuous improvements on how work gets done.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.

  • 5+ years of HR and recruiting experience.

  • The ability to express and present information clearly, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated experience and strong interest in technology, including working with HRIS/ATS/performance management systems. We currently use Rippling and Salesforce.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws: EEO, COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations.

  • A deep understanding of policies and practices, compliance requirements, and risk implications of HR including employee relations, performance management, discrimination, harassment, recruiting and hiring, compensation and benefits, leaves and disability management, HRIS, and related systems.

  • An impeccable discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

  • Demonstrated experience in Healthcare and/or school related industry (required)

In person Schedule: 5 days in our San Bruno, CA office/week

Travel Requirements: 10% or less, as needed to support the business
