Truck /Dispatch Manager

The job of a Ds4 Logistics LLC truck dispatch manager is to oversee the transportation of both drivers and freight. Monitoring deliveries, coordinating with drivers, dispatchers, brokers and clients, and responding to problems and emergencies are all part of their job description. 

•  Arranging and streamlining driver routes by considering variables including traffic, weather, state of the roads, cost of gasoline, and hours of service laws.
•   Supervising and monitoring the current condition and locations of drivers and shipments, via GPS, electronic logging devices, or telephone communication.
• Engaging in effective communication with drivers and customers by delivering updates, directions, and feedback.
•  Addressing any issues or challenges that may occur during shipment, including but not limited to delays, mechanical failures, accidents, or consumer grievances. This is a round-the-clock obligation, and one should anticipate receiving phone calls or text messages during weekends or evenings.
• Recording and archiving transportation operations data, including invoices, bills of lading, driver logs, and fuel receipts.
• Submit all relevant paperwork to clients, including images of deliveries or any concerns with inbound freight.
• Examining driver's logs, which include records of dispatch calls and arrival times.
• Keeping the business in line with all applicable rules and regulations, including federal and state and local.
•  Available to answer calls and when problems emerge, day or night, including weekends, to respond to inquiries from customers, receivers, and drivers.
•  Additional duties as needed.

Requires Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, as a driver, a dispatcher, supervisor, manager.
• Knowledge of the trucking industry, including the types of freight, equipment, and regulations (DOT, NAFTA, federal and state standards).
• Knowledge of 26ft Box trucks, 53’ trucks, OTR, FMCSA.
• Proficiency in using computer software and applications, such as Microsoft Office, dispatching software, GPS, and electronic logging devices.
