Job Description

Master Diesel Technician

· The job location is in Garland, Texas

· The pay rate is 33.00 to 42.00 an hour

· Monday thru Friday: 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

· Direct Hire

 

Responsibilities:

· The Master Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium duty and heavy-duty trucks, including General Motors models, to ensure optimal performance and reliability

· Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines including General Motors, Ford and Dodge

· Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues

· Maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements

· Interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance procedures

· Communicate with service advisors and customers regarding repairs

· Occasional service calls

· Other duties as assigned

· Physical ability to lift and carry objects weighing more than 60 pounds

· Move, load or unload material and parts for trucks and trailers

· Push and maneuver heavy objects using carts, dollies, or dumpsters weighing up to 150 pounds

· Exposure to noise, dust, cleaning solvents, battery acids, and exhaust fumes while in the shop work area

· Working within a service garage setting

Qualifications

· 5 years of experience working on light to medium duty diesel trucks required

· In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools

· Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and emissions components

· Strong understanding of diagnostic tools and software used in diesel engine diagnostics

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic code

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex issues

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team members and customers

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

· Skills, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands and/or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electrical repair shop machines and tools

· Ability to calculate simple mathematical equations

· Diesel engine repair: 5 years (Required)
