Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Developer to design, develop and install software solutions. The successful candidate will be able to build high quality innovative and fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design. Software developer responsibilities will include development, writing code, and documentation functionality.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. All employees are expected to adhere to and be knowledgeable of Orion180 operations standards, established security/safety rules and requirements for attendance. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:

  • Build web applications using Vue.js, Bootstrap, C#, .NET Core, REST services, EF, SQL, MS Azure, and other MS stack technologies
  • Receive and follow through on instructions/requirements provided by the team’s Lead Developer and Product Owner
  • Write well-designed, unit-testable, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Write unit tests where prescribed
  • Work with code first and database first EF design patterns
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards
  • Thrive in an Agile-Scrum development team
  • Provide work-completed demos on a bi-weekly basis to stakeholders or impromptu as needs arise
  • Provide timely updates on progress
  • Meet delivery timelines

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent degree
  • Experience in developing web applications on the Microsoft stack: Vue.js (or Angular), Bootstrap, C#, .NET Core, REST services, EF, and SQL on MS Azure.
  • Experience understanding database table designs. Some amount of SQL experience is a plus.
  • 2-3 years experience
  • A can-do attitude (self-motivated)
  • Ability to work on a fast-paced agile software development team
  • Ability to deliver new features on time
  • Good communication skills
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies and share knowledge with others
  • Agile-scrum experience is a plus but not required
Physical Demands

While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading, being able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop to open/close cabinets, and reach for files or other standard office-type objects.

Work Environment

The office environment is quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices, or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on the company/department needs, project requirements, or customer demands.
