AECOM's Flood Risk Solutions group has an immediate opening for a junior level Water Resources engineer, to report out of our Austin, TX office. You will be part of a national team that supports our FEMA projects.

Job Description
AECOM's Flood Risk Solutions group has an immediate opening for a junior level Water Resources engineer, to report out of our Austin, TX office. You will be part of a national team that supports our FEMA projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work with a team of Project managers, Water Resources Engineers and GIS specialists in support of FEMA floodplain modeling and mapping studies and other several water resources projects
- Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analyses to comply with FEMA guidelines and specifications
- Perform one dimensional and two-dimensional floodplain modeling using software applications like HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS
- Efficiently work with ArcGIS software in support of floodplain modeling and mapping
- Prepare project reports, including engineering calculations, research, planning and technical engineering reports
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
- Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design
Minimum Requirements :
- BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis in water
- 2+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated proficiencies in HEC-RAS 2D and ArcMap
- Masters' degree in Water Resources Engineering or a closely related degree
- Experience working with a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software(HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks, StormCAD/CivilStorm, WaterGEMs, etc)
- Understanding of hydrology and hydraulic processes supported by relevant coursework
- Professional Engineering license
- Desire to succeed in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication will be needed to coordinate with technical and non-technical staff.
