AV Commissioning Specialist I (for DELCOM GROUP LP, a technology integrator for the TX school districts)

1.0 PURPOSE

The AV Commissioning Specialist I will be responsible for pre and post QC and commissioning of Audio/Visual systems. This will include ensuring that all systems and components of a project are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the owner’s operational requirements. The Commissioning Specialist will work closely with Project Managers and Service to provide documented test results from system testing and commissioning.

2.0 JOB DUTIES

  • Job duties will include both in-house and in-field duties.
  • Will provide technical support to installation staff and project managers.
  • Will assist with the technical aspects of projects and coordination.
  • Read and interpret architectural blueprints and schematics.
  • Review project SOW to ensure quality and completeness of installation.
  • Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting.
  • Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Configure IP addressable devices to establish communication on a network.
  • Pre QC projects and create technical punch lists.
  • Assist as needed with product and system demonstrations.
  • Assists the Project Engineer with ensuring that documentation is accurate regarding the physical execution of installation.
  • Maintain control of system testing, documentation, and commissioning of projects.
  • Perform final technical QC.
  • Assist Engineering with customer training upon completion and turnover of systems.
  • Assist Service Department with service tickets.
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned.

3.0 ACCOUNTABILITY

The AV Commissioning Specialist I is accountable to the Service Manager.

4.0 SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to commission audio systems.
  • Must be able to commission AV systems.
  • Proficient with test and calibration equipment.
  • Support user acceptance testing.
  • Able to read and understand architectural drawings and system schematics.
  • Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control.
  • Knowledge of IP networking and how it relates to AV and Audio Systems.
  • Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders/lifts up to heights of 40 feet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsible and self-motivated.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

5.0 EDUCATION AND ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Four-year degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred.
  • Two-year minimum experience in the industry.
  • No disqualifying criminal events. Must pass all education background checks.
  • Must be working towards CTS Certification.
  • Must have completed OSHA 10 within 90 days of employment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards and possess a current driver’s license.
  • Additional industry certifications preferred.
