Position Description:

LCG is seeking a Technical Trainer to be a member of our team supporting 2500 users at an HHS agency. The employee will provide expert knowledge, skill, and ability in developing and providing training on supported hardware and applications. They will promote, create, design, and present training and reference materials for custom applications, web sites, COTS applications, and collaboration environments to end users and support staff. The Trainer will work with multiple customers, levels of management, and technical staff to identify needed training offerings such as on-site demos, one-on-one training, training videos, and user guides needed for the different products releases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain information needed to assist in the preparation of effective and sustainable training programs; prepare training materials; assist in the development of course content; assist in determining methodology; and coordinate the development of training aids.
  • Conduct training programs on technical topics and develop training program modules.
  • Assist LCG and Federal management and staff in marketing and promotion of training services to new and existing customers.
  • Design technical manuals using simple language.
  • Conduct role-specific training on tools and programs each team uses daily and in use by the organization.
  • Familiarity with web-based learning platforms and modern virtual training.
  • Must have superior writing skills and superior presentation skills.
  • Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Assist in revising lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Contribute to and assist in the coordination, administration, and follow-up of training events and the administration of surveys.
  • Proactively implement training course effectiveness evaluations, collect metrics, and strategize training program improvements.
  • Provide tier 3 support to customers for software that is included in the training team’s course list.
  • Prepare and submit reports detailing the status, accomplishments, and issues of the team.
  • Assist in maintaining the training rooms so that they are ready for class.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science or other related discipline, or 3+ years equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of previous technical support experience.
  • Requires two years of general work experience with specific experience in MS Office Software.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Zoom, Office 365, MS Office 2016 including OneNote.
  • Experience developing education materials, technical writing/editing, and teaching in an adult environment.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $76,000 to $102,000 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
