Internship Overview:

We are offering a credit-based internship opportunity for an enthusiastic children’s book lover with a passion for learning more about School & Library marketing to join the team as a summer intern!

The School & Library Marketing Intern will work closely with the Children’s School & Library department

in their outreach to educators and librarians, as well as the creation and execution of marketing campaigns for titles ranging from board books to young adult novels.


Tasks may include assisting in brainstorming ideas for marketing efforts; coordinating mailings to key contacts, award committees, and reviewers; researching new educator and librarian contacts to build our list of contacts; assisting with preparations for conferences and events; and updating and maintaining departmental organizational documents.

The Children’s School & Library Marketing Intern will also attend key meetings and can learn from multiple staff members across the department during day-to-day activities and the seasonal process of creating a campaign. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in children's book marketing and to learn more about the way publishers work with educators and librarians to support the vital services they provide to their communities.


Qualifications:
Have an interest in pursuing a career in publishing and a passion for children’s books
Exhibit a keen eye for detail
Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills
Possess excellent writing and communication skills

Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
