Training Specialist

Summary

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivery of training to customers who use Car-Part.com’s state-of-the art suite of software products. Individuals in this role conduct onsite and virtual (phone) training sessions with customers. The Training Specialist may also assist with the training of other Car-Part.com employees and with the development of training content.

Primary Responsibilities

• Communicate technical information to customers with a broad range of experience levels
• Maintain a current customer list and complete accurate documentation of training sessions
• Evaluate current training and installation processes to find innovative ways to improve the customer experience, streamline processes etc.
• Support the development of internal and external training content
• Conduct internal training sessions for employees
• Stay current on enhancements to Car-Part products and services
• Provide assistance to Customer Support teams including chat rooms and phone requests when available
• Troubleshoot basic hardware or software problems
• Keep an up-to-date schedule with all customer appointments
• Participate in trade shows, conferences or other Sales and Marketing events as needed
• Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, external customers
• Attend team meetings
• Take initiative to learn and expand role
• Perform other tasks and have such other responsibilities as assigned by Car-Part from time to time
• To help with the testing of new releases that are in production.

Essential Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time with most weekends at home. Travel consists primarily of on-site client visits, but may include industry trade shows that require weekend trave.

• Knowledge of phone, email and instant message etiquette
• Understanding of adult learning principles
• Ability to think outside of the box to solve creative or technical problems
• Ability to edit and simplify materials for a clear content presentation

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
• High proficiency level with MS Office products Prior experience with body shop or auto insurance estimating
• Bilingual in English and either Spanish or French a plus

Non-Essential but Valued Skills and Experience:

• 2 years job-related experience preparing and delivering training content
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in an automotive salvage yard environment, auto parts or automotive repair related business.
• Experience with Car-Part.com software products such as Checkmate, Trading Partners, and Instant Messaging etc.
