Job Description

Well established, family owned and operated, freight and fleet company providing secure cargo and reliable transportation, in business for 40 years, has an opportunity for you to contribute to the strategic development of this organization. Reporting to the sales manager, the outside sales representative will be responsible for generating and maximizing opportunities to quote for the company, within the company parameters. If you have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a successful outside sales representative, preferably freight transportation, or logistics environment, you may qualify for this position. We offer a base salary, plus a very generous commission plan and benefits.

Essential Responsibilities:

Generate conversion rates that facilitate meeting sales goals as defined and agreed upon.

Always maintain a list of prospects that meet the company objectives for sales funnel activity.

To successfully meet deadlines within the time allocated

Document activity according to procedure through the company CRM or other tools, as instructed.

Provide and maintain records, whether electronic or paper, as required and within timelines.

Utilize personal calendar to maximize efficiency of travel, customer interactions, and customer service.

To operate vehicle safely and in accordance with local laws and regulations

Maintain all expenses, in the format required on or prior to the deadlines set.

Provide the Sales Manager a solution, or series of potential solutions, to any identified issue.

Responsible for appropriate care and maintenance for all Company equipment, software and materials under your use

Attend any mandatory departmental and/or Company Meetings as directed by the Sales Manager.

Comply with company policies and procedures, written or informal, as applicable.

Willingness to learn new practices and skills as required to keep up to date with best practices as defined and amended by the Company from time to time.

Represent our organization professionally and ethically in all interactions with customers, prospects, vendors, and colleagues.

Experience Desired:

Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook

Previous outside sales experience, preferably within the freight industry with a book of business.

Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level that allows the completion of any required task and customer communications in a legible, thorough, and logical manner and to communicate with Customers and Office staff.

Exceptional time management skills focused on outcomes.

Ability to speak and write Spanish is an asset.

Ability to meet procedural and quality requirements.

Ability to work to, and meet, required deadlines.

Ability to understand and internalize instructions and standard processes and procedures.
